— The deadline for the Topeka Symphony's 50th Annual Youth Talent Auditions is Dec. 11.

High school music students from 21 northeast Kansas counties have been invited to register for auditions, which will take place Jan. 11 in White Concert Hall at Washburn University.

Applicants must be in 10th, 11th or 12th grade and may enter in any of four divisions: wind and percussion, vocal, piano and strings. The winner in each division will receive a scholarship award from Capitol Federal Savings. The overall winner of the auditions will be presented with the Topeka Symphony Orchestra on Feb. 22 and at the School Day concerts on Feb. 20. The first runner-up will perform with the Topeka Symphony Youth Orchestra on March 9.

Applications and a $25 entry fee must be postmarked by Dec. 11. Mail applications to: Topeka Symphony Youth Talent Auditions, P.O. Box 2206, Topeka 66601-2206.
