Swing groups perform for Lawrence Habitat

Lawrence Habitat for Humanity will sponsor “Swing Time & Coffee” at 2 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church, 946 Vt.

The performance will feature Clyde Bysom and the Jazzhaus 20-piece band and Don Mueller and his singing group, Attune.

No tickets are required, but a free will offering will be taken.

The Bysom big band will play numbers made popular by the bands of Glenn Miller, the Dorseys and others. The 20-plus member band has been a community institution for more than 20 years.

Attune this year features Nancy Gibbens, Nancy Stephenson, and LAZER morning show personality Danny Bristow, who played a leading role in this year’s “Ballad of Black Jack,” the historical musical performed annually at Baldwin’s Maple Leaf Festival.
