Las Vegas ? A judge has ruled that there is enough evidence to try a 52-year-old homeless man on murder charges in the death of Jay R. Smith, a former child actor from the “Our Gang” film series, better known to television audiences as “The Little Rascals.”

Las Vegas Justice of the Peace James Bixler made the ruling in Charles “Wayne” Crombie’s case Thursday after hearing from six witnesses, including two pawn shop employees who testified Crombie pawned items belonging to Smith after the 87-year-old man was stabbed to death.

Crombie had been living with Smith, whose body was found Oct. 5 in the desert north of Las Vegas.
