Prairie Wind to perform at Arts Center

The Prairie Wind Dancers will present “InsideOutsideUpsideDown: Dances for Kids of All Ages” on Nov. 10 at the Lawrence Arts Center, 940 N.H.

Several excerpts from Prairie Wind’s new school program, “Word Dance,” will highlight the event.

The program will include a sneak preview of the upcoming “A Kansas Nutcracker” with choreography by Deborah Bettinger. That production is scheduled for Dec. 12-21 at the arts center.

Several short works from the dancers’ repertoire will round out the program. “Catching Wind,” is a playful romp with scarves. “Martha’s Phrase” demonstrates the basic elements of choreography. Excerpts from Carl Sandburg’s “Prairie!” will include a dance using giant puppets.

Tickets are $6 and are available at the Lawrence Arts Center. For more information, contact Candi Baker, artistic director, at 843-2787.
