Theater reaches out to community

Here are some other activities going on at Lawrence Community Theatre:

The Vintage Players will perform at 2 p.m. June 27 at the Lawrence Senior Center. In June they also will appear at the Tonganoxie Senior Center.

The group, for senior citizens, presents music and short playlets written by Don Mueller and John Clifford.

The group meets at 1:30 p.m. the second and fourth Tuesdays at the theater, 1501 N.H.

“Back to Broadway,” a revue of musical selections from past LCT shows, will raise money while celebrating the theater’s 25th anniversary.

The event will begin at 6 p.m. June 30 with cocktails and a social at the Marriott’s Springhill Suites at the Riverfront, Sixth and New Hampshire streets. Dinner is at 7 p.m., followed by the musical show.

“Mice From Outer Space,” a School’s Out, Theatre’s In program will be July 29 through Aug. 2 at the theater.

The show is about group of mice from the moon who crash on the Earth and encounter earthlings. Children in grades 1 through 5 participate in all areas of the musical, including costumes and sets, and present a performance at the end of the week.

The fee is $90. The program will be lead by Annette Cook, Karen Massachio and Philip Denton.
