Author to talk about spiritual healing

Kansas City, Mo. Author Victoria Moran will speak at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Unity Temple of the Plaza, 707 W. 47th St.

Moran, the author of “Fit From Within,” will talk about how living life from a spiritual perspective transformed her attitudes and help her conquer a weight problem.

Admission is $35, $25 and $20. Tickets are available at the door.

New work features international actors

Kansas City, Mo. “Incorporated,” a multimedia theater piece about corporate greed and its effects on people and the environment, will be presented Thursday through June 30 at the NextSpace Gallery, 513 E. 18th St. Show times are 8 p.m. Fridays-Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays.

The piece is directed by and based on the work of M. Antonia Andujar, who is from Spain, and features other European theater and film professionals who are new to the Kansas City area.

Tickets are $7 and $12.

Topeka museum names new director

Topeka Ed Barr has been named director of the Mulvane Art Museum at Washburn University, effective July 1. He will replace Robert Soppelsa, who is retiring June 30.

Barr has served as assistant to the director of the Mulvane since January 1999. He previously worked at the Helen Foresman Spencer Museum of Art at Kansas University.

Barr received a master’s degree from KU.

Rose show blooming at Topeka library

Topeka The 43rd Annual Topeka Rose Show will be Saturday at the Topeka Shawnee County Public Library, 1515 S.W. 10th St.

People can enter roses into the show from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. The free show is open to the public for viewing at 1 p.m.

Blues festival kicks off in Arkansas town

Eureka Springs, Ark. The 14th annual Eureka Springs Blues Festival will be Thursday-Saturday.

Headliners are Indigenous and The Fabulous Thunderbirds. Other performers include Chubby Carrier, Jimmy Thackery and the Drivers, Reba Russell, The Cate Brothers, Sean Costello, Anthony Gomes, Richard Johnston, The Tablerockers with Baby Jason, Patrick Sweany, The Mezcal Brothers and the Zack Bramhall Band.
