Hurley turns down child support
London — Movie producer Steve Bing said Tuesday that he’d pay 100,000 pounds a year, or $158,000, to support the son he fathered with actress Elizabeth Hurley.
But Hurley quickly responded that the money was “not wanted or welcome,” and that she would refuse it.
“I have always made it perfectly clear to Stephen Bing, the father of my son Damian, that I don’t want any financial help from him whatsoever,” a statement from Hurley said.
A spokeswoman for Bing said the money would be paid into a trust, and it was not for Hurley to turn away.
Zeta-Jones takes musical spin
London — Catherine Zeta-Jones could be transformed into a pop diva with the possible release of a single from the musical film “Chicago.”
According to BBC’s Liquid News, the Welsh beauty has recorded a single — the “Chicago” number “I Move On” — with costar Renee Zellweger, of “Bridget Jones’s Diary” fame.
If the single is released in the U.K., it would be her fourth attempt at pop-star fame.
In 1992, she released “For All Time” but it reached only No. 36 in the charts. A second effort in 1994 produced “True Love Ways,” a duet with David Essex, but it peaked at No. 38. Zeta-Jones’ last attempt was in 1995 with “In The Arms of Love,” which topped out at No. 72.

Bratt, who turned 39 on Monday, dated “Pretty Woman” star Julia Roberts for four years. He has co-starred on the NBC legal drama “Law & Order” and appeared in the films “The River Wild,” “Traffic” and “Miss Congeniality.”
Soto, 35, has appeared in “The Mambo Kings,” “Spy Hard” and the “Mortal Kombat” movies.
Fans don’t know fiction from fact
New York — When David Hyde Pierce goes to the supermarket, people often congratulate him on his marriage — to his TV wife.
“After Daphne and I finally got together — we drove off in the Winnebago at the end of the seventh season — truck drivers would say, ‘You got her! Way to go!”‘ said Pierce, who plays high-strung psychiatrist Dr. Niles Crane on NBC’s “Frasier.”
His character and Daphne Moon, played by Jane Leeves, were wed at the beginning of this season.
“Now people just congratulate me on my marriage, it’s wonderful,” Pierce told reporters recently. “People come up to me in the supermarket. ‘I’m so glad you’re married. She’s so nice. You gonna have kids?”‘
