SLU administrator tapped as Baker dean

An administrator at St. Louis University will be the next vice president and dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Baker University, officials announced Tuesday.

Jamie Comstock, interim dean of St. Louis University’s School of Professional Studies, will begin at Baker in July.

She replaces Stuart Dorsey, who left in June to become vice president of academic affairs at the University of Evansville in Indiana.

Comstock has been director of academic programs at her school for three years. Before that, she served nine years as director of the Organizational Communication Program and Leadership Minor at the University of West Florida, in Pensacola.

She also was faculty member in the communication arts department at the University of West Florida.

Comstock will oversee all academic programs, faculty and several administrators at Baker’s Baldwin campus.
