Civic Choir to begin rehearsing Monday

Rehearsals for the Lawrence Civic Choir’s fall season will begin Monday night at First United Methodist Church, 946 Vt.

Registration begins at 7 p.m., with rehearsal at 7:30 p.m.

Subsequent rehearsals will be at 7:30 p.m. Mondays, except for Labor Day.

The fall concert will be at 3 p.m. Dec. 15 at First United Methodist Church and will feature Rutter’s “Magnificat” and other sacred and secular holiday music. The choir is directed by Steve Eubank, choral director at Topeka High School.

Topeka orchestras looking for members

Topeka Auditions for Topeka Symphony Orchestra have been set.

Auditions for assistant horn and strings is Sept. 4. Auditions for Topeka Symphony Youth Orchestra, Youth Philharmonic and Debut Orchestra is Aug. 31.
