FIVE ARRESTED AFTER CHASE FROM LENEXA

A 31-mile car chase from Lenexa ended at a dead end for nine suspects early Saturday morning. Five suspects — four males and a female — were arrested at the scene and four others escaped when they fled on foot from the car after driving into a dead end at Louisiana Street and Edgehill Road in Lawrence, authorities said.

A rural Lecompton man was killed in a one-car accident on a Douglas County road about 4 a.m. Saturday. Jerry Oldham, 24, was pronounced dead at the scene at 543 N. 2100 Road, just west of Lecompton.
