Turn on all of your hot water faucets. This will help relieve the overheated hot water heater.

Turn off the gas or electric supply to the heater.

Let the faucets run until cold water flows from them. (This will indicate the water in the heater is no longer overheated).

Turn off all of your running water faucets.

Call Vito! I will make any necessary repairs to the water heater. It could be the water heater's thermostat or pressure relief valve.
