Photos / Otters At Play
Recently an otter was photographed in the Wakarusa Wetlands. Otters were hunted to extinction in Kansas. They had not been spotted in Douglas County since at least 1905. This was part of an "animal crossing" awareness project begun last fall, conducted jointly by Save the Wakarusa Wetlands, Haskell's WPO, and KU EcoJustice students.
