This group presents a system developed and used successfully by people with a variety of physical and emotional symptoms. It has helped them use self-help skills more easily to monitor their symptoms, decrease the severity and frequency of symptoms, and improve the quallity of their lives.
This group will help you:
Develop your own list of activities for your everyday well being Track triggering events and early warning signs Prepare your personal responses if symptoms increase Create a plan for your supporters to care for you if necessary
Included in the guide which will be utilized, Wellness Recovery Action Play, by Mary Ellen Copeland, Ph.D., is information on developing a support system, using peer counseling, focusing, creative activities, journaling, music, diet, exercise, light, relaxation exercises, and getting a good night's sleep.
Topics will include:
Developing a daily maintenance plan. Dealing with triggers. Catching early warning signs. Developing a plan to deal with symptoms that occur when the situation has gotten much worse but has not yet reached a crisis, where you can still take action in your own behalf. Creating your own crisis plan.
