Anniversary
Tesch
Jim and Roma Tesch, Overbrook, celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary March 17 with family and friends.
Jim Tesch and Roma McGee were married March 24, 1967, at the Eudora Church of Christ.
Jim worked at the Farmers Co-op in Lawrence and is retired.
Roma works at the Eudora Animal Hospital. They are former residents of Eudora.
Their children are Lisa Slavin, Baldwin City; Karin Ayers, Eudora; and Jimmie Tesch, Eudora. They have five grandchildren.
Wedding
Allen
Katie Bell and Wade Allen were married on Sept. 16, 2006, at Mildale Farm in Edgerton, with Valerie Howland officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Bill and Diane Bell, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Virgil and Ellen Allen, Baldwin City.
The maid of honor of was Rachel Paradies. The best man was Darren Waisner. Bridesmaids were Stephani Heider, Meghan Armstrong, Emily Frank, Molly Englebrake, Kerry Frick and Hannah Bolton. Groomsmen were Aaron Hall, Keary Crow, Chris Rose, Billy Price, Joe Bell and Jack Bell.
The flower girl was Brianne Coates. Ring bearer was Eric Waisner. Ushers were Jeff Whaley, Kevin Watts, Jon Murray, Andy Flory and Sam Bolton. Guest book attendants were Emily McCarthy, Michelle Simon and Verna Simon. The wedding coordinator was Kathy Decker.
A reception followed at Mildale Farm.
Katie is a 2001 graduate of Lawrence High School. She received a degree in human biology in 2006 from Kansas University and is completing certification in hospital administration.
Wade is a 1997 graduate of Baldwin High School. He received an education degree in 2002 from Emporia State University. He is a self-employed contractor.
The couple reside in Baldwin City.
Wedding
Biggerstaff
Shannon Smith and Charlie Biggerstaff were married Jan. 27, 2007, at Salem Christian Church in Salem, Mo., with the Rev. Tony Martin officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Don and Stacy Smith, Salem. The groom is the son of Dwane and Sandy Biggerstaff, Lawrence.
The matron of honor was Kara Gordon. The best man was Spence Chaney. Bridesmaids were Caitlin Smith, Courtney Goetz and Maegan Goodman. Groomsmen were Phil Biggerstaff, Mike Garfield and William Rasberry. The flower girl was Mara Lingenfelter. The ring bearer was Matt Lingenfelter. Ushers were Ryan Smith and Jeremy Smith. Candlelighters were George Wagner and Evan Kindrick. The soloist was Dusty Workman.
Charlie sang "My Perfect Gift," which he had composed for his bride.
A reception was given at the Spring Creek Country Club in Salem.
Shannon graduated from Salem High School in 2003 and received a degree in elementary education from Missouri Southern State University. She is an assistant manager at Gymboree in Joplin, Mo., and is a substitute teacher for the Webb City school district.
Charlie is a 2003 graduate of Lawrence High School. He has completed firefighter training and is taking emergency medical technician courses at Missouri Southern. He is employed as an assistant manager at Food 4 Less in Joplin.
The couple reside in Joplin.
Engagement
Willette and Woodliff
Guy and Cile Woodliff, Charlotte, N.C., and Priscilla Woodliff, Lawrence, announce the engagement of their daughter, Elizabeth Woodliff, to Ryan Willette, both of Virginia Beach, Va. The future groom is the son of Scott and Mary Ann Willette, Lawrence.
Elizabeth graduated from Lawrence High School. She received a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Washburn University, and a Master of Science in nursing from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. She is employed as a nurse practitioner in Norfolk, Va.
Ryan also graduated from LHS. He received an electrical engineering degree from Kansas University and participated in Navy ROTC. He is a Navy officer stationed at the Naval Amphibious Base-Little Creek in Virginia.
The couple plan a Sept. 8, 2007, wedding in Lawrence.
Engagement
Foster and Morris
Robert and Rebecca Foster, Lawrence, announce the engagement of their son, Randall Foster, to Emily Morris, both of Nashville, Tenn. The future bride is the daughter of Steven and Irela Morris, Estero, Fla.
Emily graduated from Estero High School and received a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Miami in 2005.
She is employed as a clinical research coordinator at Vanderbilt University.
Randall is a 1996 graduate of Lawrence High School. He received a bachelor's degree in history from Kansas University in 2002, and a master's degree in music business from the University of Miami. He is employed as licensing and content services manager at Naxos of America.
The couple plan a May 19, 2007, wedding in Key West, Fla.
