Phillip and Mike Pittman, Sulphur, La., announce the engagement of their daughter, Caline Marie Pittman, to Gregory Leigh Nielsen, both of Newport Beach, Calif.
The future groom is the son of Eric Nielsen, Corona del Mar, Calif., and Karyl Graves, Lawrence.
The couple plan a June 22, 2007, wedding in Newport Beach.

Shauna R. Rice and Michael W. Newton were married May 5, 2007, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Lenexa, with the Rev. Tom Dolezal officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Dean and Brenda Rice, Horton. The groom is the son of Ron and Janis Newton, Linwood.
The maid of honor was Kelsey Rice. The best man was Ben Payton.
A reception was given at Holiday Inn in Overland Park.
The bride graduated from Horton High School and Pittsburg State University. She is employed at Kornitzer Capital Management. The groom graduated from Basehor-Linwood High School and Pittsburg State University.
He is employed at Molle Audi Automotive.
The couple reside in Shawnee.

Billie and Harry Bell
Harry and Billie Bell, Eudora, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. June 16 at First Southern Baptist Church in Eudora.
Harry Bell and Billie Morgan were married June 28, 1957, at Free Methodist Church in Lawrence.
Harry graduated from De Soto High School in 1957. He worked as a broiler operator at Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant. He retired in 1995.
Billie also graduated from De Soto High in 1957. She was manager at Pinecrest Apartments in Eudora until July 2006.
Their children are Tammy Donovan, Eudora, and Linda Long, Lawrence. They have two grandsons, one stepgrandson and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
The couple request no gifts.

Jay and Grace Foutz, Lawrence, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a family dinner at a later date.
Jay D. Foutz and Grace Van Sickler were married June 1, 1957, in Nelson, Neb.
Jay worked for the Army Corps of Engineers and, after retiring, he worked for Hamm's Quarry in Perry.
Grace works for Payless ShoeSource. She also worked for F.W. Woolworth in downtown Lawrence and Leather Loft in the Riverfront Mall.
Their children are Douglas Kent Foutz and wife Betty, Topeka; Roger D. Foutz, Littleton, Colo.; and Patricia Ridenour, Lawrence.
They have three granddaughters, a stepgranddaughter, three stepgreat-grandsons and a stepgreat-granddaughter.

Gary and Linda Stanwix, Lawrence, are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary.
Gary Stanwix and Linda Beers were married June 9, 1967, in Lawrence.
They grew up in Lawrence and have resided in the city for all except four years. Gary is employed by Aquila Inc., and Linda works for Lawrence public schools.
Their children are Kyle Stanwix and Jennifer Hamon, both of Lawrence. They have four grandchildren.

Steve and Susan Bauer, Lawrence, announce the engagement of their daughter, Eva Bauer, Lawrence, to Luke Schooler, McPherson, son of Keith and Jody Schooler, McPherson.
The future bride graduated from Free State High School in 2002 and Kansas State University in 2007. She is employed at the Hope Lutheran Early Learning Center.
The future groom graduated from McPherson High School in 2002 and Kansas State University in 2006. He is pursuing a graduate degree in landscape architecture at K-State.
The couple plan an Aug. 4, 2007, wedding at Westview Community Church in Manhattan.

Rachel Hammer and Drew Ecklund
Gary and Julie Hammer, Lawrence, announce the engagement of their daughter, Rachel Hammer, to Drew Ecklund, both of McCall, Idaho. The future groom is the son of Jeff and Robie Ecklund, McCall.
Rachel was a home-school graduate in 2003. She attended a Discipleship Training School at Youth With a Mission in Kona, Hawaii, in 2004, and was on staff with Youth With a Mission in Cascade, Idaho, in 2005. She served as a missionary during trips to Cambodia and India. She is employed as a preschool teacher at Mountain Life Church Preschool in McCall, and is self-employed as a piano teacher.
Drew graduated from Okanogan High School in Okanogan, Wash., in 2001. He attended Portland Bible College and has worked in the logging industry. He is employed as a carpenter with Homecraft Solutions Inc. in McCall.
The couple plan a June 16, 2007, wedding at Mountain Life Church in McCall.
