UPDATE: Snow found in Hawaii confirms 50 states with snow on the ground
After analysis confirmed snow on the ground in 49 states, the search was on for snow still on the ground in the higher elevations of Hawaii.
Turns out, there was a little bit. The photo below was submitted to a website run by Patrick Marsh, an Oklahoma student who captured the 50 states of snow by having photos submitted to his blog from people in all 50 states. In just one weekend, he confirmed the milestone. All 50 had some on the ground.
His blog showed the following picture of snow on the ground on Mauna Kea in Hawaii.

For reference, this is a photo of Mauna Kea in March 2005. Sometimes, Hawaii does get some good snow!
