You could win big on ‘Loser’

Anyone unbelieving that reality shows can change participants’ lives for the better probably has never watched “The Biggest Loser.” The ratings winner for NBC has helped dozens of folks lose hundreds of pounds all the while sending out good vibes of inspiration for the folks at home.

And now, “Loser” is taking its show on the road, heading to our neck of the woods July 18 at Nebraska Furniture Mart, 1601 Village West Parkway, in The Legends shopping center for an open casting call for season nine. The call will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is casting family teams of two. These family units can consist of parents and their children, siblings, married and unmarried couples, cousins and in-laws and each person should need to lose more than 100 pounds.

By the end of the season, the show’s winner will presumably have lost more than 100 pounds — this year’s winner, Helen Phillips lost 140 pounds at age 48 — and take home the grand prize of $250,000.

If you go, the organizers ask that you do not line up more than three hours before the open call and note that they hope to see the first 500 people in line. If you can’t get to the open call but want to try out, visit thebiggestlosercasting.com.

Good luck!
