Woman arrested on felony charges after reportedly hitting man with bottle, kicking police

A woman was arrested overnight after allegedly hitting a man with a glass bottle, then kicking police officers who subsequently arrested her.

Police responded about 2:20 a.m. Wednesday to the 1200 block of Oread Avenue, where the woman had reportedly hit the man with a bottle, Lawrence Police Department spokesman Patrick Compton said. Compton said the woman resisted being arrested and, after being handcuffed, kicked the police officers.

The male victim suffered minor injuries, Compton said. Neither the woman nor officers involved in the incident were hurt.

Bailey K. Crosbie, a 23-year-old Lawrence resident, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and battery on law enforcement, according to jail records. Charged with a felony, she was set to appear in Douglas County District Court on Wednesday afternoon, court records show.

Just three days ago Crosbie was also arrested in a different incident in the 1100 block of George Court, jail records show. In that case she was charged Monday with interference with law enforcement, a misdemeanor, according to the district attorney’s office.
