Baker University football player named special-teams player of the week

Baker University’s PJ McCallop Jr. earned special teams player of the week in the Heart of America Conference.

A sophomore, McCallop had his first career punt return for a touchdown in the No. 17 Wildcats’ 52-0 shutout of St. Ambrose on Saturday. In that game he returned a punt 80 yards and notched a 34-yard kickoff return.

Other HACC players of the week included Adrian Parsons of No. 23 MidAmerica Nazarene University (offensive player of the week), who broke the MNU career touchdown passing record in a 69-7 road win against Culver-Stockton, and Javhi Blomquist of No. 19 Benedictine (defensive player of the week), who had two interceptions and three tackles in a 45-27 win over William Penn University.
