Baker University junior Ahmed Mahgoub was named Heart Defensive Player of the Week on Monday for the third time this season.

Mahgoub helped the No. 15 Wildcats (9-1 overall, 6-0 Heart) defeat Peru State last Wednesday, holding the Bobcats to a season-low 64 points. He also tallied five steals and a block in an 84-72 victory over MidAmerica Nazarene on Saturday. His first two weekly honors were back-to-back at the start of the season.

Baker next will play Central Methodist on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at 7:30 p.m. in Fayette, Missouri.

Marcus Anthony of Central Methodist University earned the offensive player of the week award.
