Journal-World Athletes of the Week: Delaney Earl and Leo Schoenberger
The postseason continued for wrestling, while basketball got closer to substate with more meaningful league games, and whether it was playoffs or the regular season, local athletes had winning moments for their teams. Here are this week’s selections for Journal-World Athletes of the Week:
Delaney Earl, Free State

Earl became Free State’s first three-time state qualifier in girls wrestling as she placed sixth in the 6A West regional tournament, winning three matches in the tournament.
Leo Schoenberger, Baldwin

Schoenberger had his fourth double-double with of the season in Baldwin’s 73-46 win over Tonganoxie on Tuesday with 16 points and 10 rebounds. It was the Bulldogs’ second win in a row, and the team now holds the third-best record in the 4A East.
