The spring sports season is entering its final stretch with some sports concluding their regular seasons in the next week and others already starting postseason activity. With that are local athletes making big plays for their teams in big moments. Here are this week’s selections for Athletes of the Week:

Jun Brewer, Lawrence

Brewer had a strong performance in the Sunflower League tennis tournament, finishing third among all singles players. He upset the No. 2 seed in the third-place match with an 8-2 win.

Taylor Woods, Free State

On senior night, Free State pulled out a 3-2 comeback win against Olathe South in overtime, with Woods scoring the game-winning goal. Woods also assisted on an earlier goal in the game.
