Three local area high school football players were selected to the 2025 Kansas Shrine Bowl on Saturday, June 25 in Dodge City.
Tonganoxie wide receiver Todd Brown, Eudora defensive back Christian Jarrett and Free State linebacker Parker Moore were the three to earn the nod at the game. All three players will be coached by Sabetha coach Garrett Michael.
Brown had 832 yards and eight touchdowns while being named to the All-Frontier League team for the second time. Tonganoxie went 8-4 on the season and reached the sub-state round of the playoffs before losing to the eventual runner-up Bishop Miege 48-13. Brown was also named to the Sports in Kansas first-team all-state team.
Jarrett played defensive back for Eudora and had 30 tackles, 17 solo tackles, and eight pass breakups. He added two tackles for loss and a forced fumble, which earned him a unanimous spot on the All-Frontier League team. On offense, Jarrett was named an All-Frontier League multipurpose offensive player, and he was a Sports in Kansas all-state honorable mention.
Moore played both linebacker and running back for Free State and had 74 total tackles, 11 for a loss, along with three sacks, an interception, a forced fumble and three blocked kicks. He added 242 yards on 42 carries with nine touchdowns on offense. His work made him a first-team All-Sunflower League player and a Sports in Kansas first-team all-state player. Moore will continue playing football at the University of Wyoming in the fall.
Last year, Tonganoxie running back Colton Brusven, Free State lineman Hank Fuchs and Eudora defensive back Adrion Seals were selected to the team, while Tonganoxie coach Preston Troyer was part of the East team’s coaching staff.
The three local participants will face a West team that is coached by Wichita Heights head coach Dominick Dingle. The game will take place at 7 p.m. at Memorial Stadium in Dodge City on June 21.
