Journal-World Athletes of the Week: Jada Baars and Grayson Hagen
Over the course of the week, local high school basketball teams competed in tournaments, while other sports concluded their regular seasons. Throughout the competition, numerous local athletes had impactful performances for their teams. Here are this week’s Journal-World Athletes of the Week:
Jada Baars, Lawrence
Baars stepped into a starting role for the first time this year during the Capital City Classic, in which the Lions placed fourth of eight teams. Baars did a little bit of everything for the team, and was lauded by teammates and coaches for her ability to defend, facilitate the offense and hit open shots.
