The spring sports season is fully underway as teams and players are figuring themselves out and how to win. With that, here are this week’s selections for athletes of the week:

Lawrence Dao, Free State

Dao had a stellar two-day performance on the tennis court. As Free State’s No. 2 singles player, he had three wins in three matches at a quad on Monday against Lawrence, Shawnee Mission Northwest and Olathe East and three wins on Tuesday against Gardner Edgerton, Mill Valley and Blue Valley West.

Sienna Wesley, Lawrence

Wesley won the 200-meter dash at 26.78 seconds in a meet at Washburn Rural and placed second in the long jump at 17 feet, 6 inches.
