Local area athletes earned recognition for their fall sports seasons with all-state and all-conference teams, while others signed with colleges to continue their athletic careers. Here are this week’s Journal-World Athletes of the Week selections:

Yusef Iskandrani, Free State High School

Iskandrani’s senior season performance as Free State’s goalkeeper earned him multiple honors, including KSHSAA 6A first-team all-state and both Sunflower Conference goalkeeper of the year and Sunflower Conference first-team all-conference.

Kaitlin Base, Baldwin High School

Base participated in National Signing Day at Baldwin High School and signed with Neosho County Community College to continue her softball career.
