Kansas soccer wins battle of Top 10 teams, 1-0 over Oklahoma State

The 10th-ranked Kansas women’s soccer team improved to 4-1 on the season with its fourth 1-0 victory of the season, this one over No. 8 Oklahoma State on Friday night at Rock Chalk Park.

The lone goal of the match, an unassisted strike from KU senior Ceri Holland, came in the 41st minute of the first half.

Kansas (4-1) managed just one shot on goal all night (in seven total), while staving off nine OSU shots, four of which were on targer.

KU goalkeeper, junior Sarah Peters, picked up her fourth shutout of the season, giving her 24 for her career, which sits four shy of tying KU’s all-time record.

Peters was credited with four saves during the Jayhawks’ latest shutout.

Kansas is now 10-1-3 in its last 14 games against Big 12 foes and Friday’s win pushed KU’s edge over OSU in games played in Lawrence to 8-2-2 all-time.

The Jayhawks will return to action next Friday against TCU at Rock Chalk Park.
