LHS bowling sweeps home meet
Both Lawrence High bowling squads finished in first place in the varsity competition at their home meet on Tuesday at Royal Crest Lanes.
On the girls side, LHS finished 36 pins better than runner-up Gardner-Edgerton with a team score of 1,921. Lawrence’s boys team posted a total score of 2,407, which was actually 228 pins better than runner-up Olathe South.
The Lions were led by the top individual bowler in both divisions as well. Emilie Rodman won the varsity girls competition with a series score of 526, and Maison Albarado registered a 624 series score to finish first in the varsity boys division.
In addition, LHS also had a pair of top 5 individuals in each division. Josh King was a runner-up at the varsity boys level, and Wheeler Battaglia-Davis placed fourth. Jojo Blackwood and Lana Chieu finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in the varsity girls competition.
LHS will compete in a meet at Park Lanes on Thursday.
