Free State’s wrestling team ended up on the wrong end of a dual at Basehor-Linwood on Friday.

Basehor-Linwood won seven of the 13 matches, including one by forfeit, en route to a 45-31 victory. Jett Barton, Austin Burenheide and Titus Birdashaw all won their respective open matches for the Firebirds.

A trio of Free State wrestlers also won their respective weight class. Nolan Bradley notched a 4-0 decision over Bryce Ross in the 113-pound weight class. Lou Fincher recorded a 9-1 major decision in the 132-pound weight class, while Caleb Streeter won via fall in the 138-pound weight class.

Free State will compete in the Sunflower League meet at 9 a.m. Saturday at Olathe Northwest.
