KU soccer drops 2-0 decision to No. 7 BYU

For just the second time this season, the Kansas women’s soccer team suffered a loss.

No. 14 KU surrendered a pair of second-half scores to drop a 2-0 decision to No. 7 BYU Thursday night at Rock Chalk Park. BYU broke the 0-0 tie with a score by Elise Flake in the 45th minute on an assist by Cameron Tucker. Mikayla Colohan netted a shot from top of the box two minutes later.

Kansas goalkeeper Sarah Peters still recorded a pair of saves in the loss. The Jayhawks tallied 12 shots in the match, including nine in the second half. BYU finished with 16 shot attempts, nine of which came in the first half.

KU (7-2) will host Kennesaw State at noon Sunday.
