Sera Tadokoro powered the Kansas women’s golf team with consistent shooting and helped move the Jayhawks to 11th place in the standings on day two of the Palmetto Intercollegiate in Kiawah Island, S.C.

Tadokoro continued her steady pace and improved to an even par 72 score for the second day. She currently sits inside the top 20 at 15th place. Senior Yi-Tsen Chou turned her performance around after day one and fired an impressive score of 1-under par 71 during today’s play. Chou carded four birdies on her way to moving up the leaderboard 25 spots.

Following a shaky first round, sophomore Pear Pooratanaopa bounced back and fired even scoring for most of the competition to end the day with a score of 1-over par 73. Junior Aristelle Acuff and freshman Ying-Ting Hsieh’s troubles continued as both were burdened by too many bogeys to gain any ground on the individual leaderboard.

As a team, Kansas moved up five spots into 11th place and looks to continue to climb upward heading into the final round of play.

The Jayhawks will conclude the Palmetto Intercollegiate at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
