LHS girls soccer falls to Wichita North in regional opener

Despite a second-half surge, the Lawrence High girls soccer team was eliminated Monday night in the regional opener.

LHS dropped a 4-2 decision at Wichita North, though it faced a 3-0 deficit at the intermission. Senior Anna Chieu was credited with both scores, which capped her final campaign off with 19 goals. She also had a free kick hit a crossbar. I’yawa Brewer was credited with an assist.

Wichita North, the fifth seed in the 6A West, had six shots on goal compared to Lawrence’s eight for the match. The Lions, who were the 12th seed, switched formations in the second half. Lawrence finished its season with a 6-11 record.
