To the editor:

I, too, have been following this story about the Douglas County Commission’s decision to not reappoint Chelsi Hayden to the Planning Commission, and the lack of explanation from some commissioners. I’ve been following the subsequent readers opinions, too. The following is my opinion.

The people who elected these commissioners deserve an explanation for the way they vote on ANY subject. To defer a query to the chair constitutes a lack of responsibility and accountability. Why can’t you personally just answer the question? I’d also like evidence that this “work through the chair” is in place. If it is, that’s a problem.

Commissioner Kelly needs to explain his vote. Period.
