Letter to the editor: The fewer assumptions, the better

To the editor:

A recent exchange over the proposed solar farm accused a supporter of the farm of, essentially, being a city person who doesn’t understand farming and doesn’t love the land. As it happens, the person described is an organic farmer living and working on a small organic farm considerably outside of town (Hidden Hollow Farm, for those who shop at the farmer’s market). There are so many forces trying to divide us these days. Let’s not make assumptions about each other and focus on issues. Thanks.
