To the editor:

Time to clean house in Washington! DO NOT SIT THIS ONE OUT! The 2026 primary election on Aug. 4 will be just as important as the general election on Nov. 3. Our current government cannot take care of its own problems — namely a trillion-dollar deficit and a broken health insurance system. Trump bombed Venezuela, a country thousands of miles away. And now he is going to RUN IT? This is crazy!

Our Republican Congress is complicit in this outrageous grab for oil. Congress, dominated by Republicans, are sidestepping their constitutional obligations, sitting on their hands and watching silently as Trump plays dictator. Congress passed minimal legislation in 2025 and Republican legislators have nothing to show for being reelected. Many are retiring or quitting because they know Trump is out of control — our democracy is failing, and they don’t have the backbone to impeach Trump.

It is time to vote out the Republicans who blindly follow Trump and elect members of Congress that will uphold laws as clearly defined by our Constitution so the USA may regain trust and respect from our NATO allies.
