Letter to the editor: A degree to influence what?
To the editor:
Our state’s flagship university now proudly offers a degree in social influence. We are among the first to teach our students how to promote themselves and influence others even before they have accomplished anything worthwhile or learned much. No doubt this will attract significant numbers of the selfie generation. It amazes me how universities pander to students to bolster enrollments for degrees that become increasingly worthless. True or false? Liberal arts students can receive credits toward a classics major by watching “The Odyssey” and having AI write a 300-word synopsis of the movie (500 words for honors students).
