Letter to the editor: Praise for first responders who saved cyclist

To the editor:

Regarding the Journal-World story “Lawrence cyclist survives cardiac arrest thanks to deputies and others having life-saving know-how”:

First of all, I am here today by the grace of God, the good Samaritans and the first responders who saved my life.

Thanks to Elvira Barrios Guevara, Aaron Lathrom, Claire Sweeney, Troy Miller, Kari Wempe, Brenna Wulfkuhle and to the personnel of Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical, the emergency department personnel and staff at LMH Health. I am sorry I don’t know your names, but to each you: Thanks! You know who you are if you were on duty Saturday morning, July 22.

I was further impressed by a home visit from Claire and Troy. That was above and beyond. Thank you and God bless you.

Calvin Spencer,

Lawrence
