Letter: Ministers support amendment

To the Editor:

Kansas is standing at the crossroads concerning the August 2 vote. We ministers, in Lawrence, are compassionate and do care about the women of Kansas. We don’t want to see any mother mistreated or taken advantage of when they are pregnant.

Many people seem to make the argument of a woman being raped or being involved in incest is a valid reason for an abortion; however, is this a valid reason for taking a life? I think not. This is the argument that the abortion industry gives for having an abortion, however, you and I know that most abortions are not due to these arguments but for convenience sake.

It is sad to say that Kansas is one of the leading states in the abortion industry. To vote Yes is a vote in the right direction. To vote No is to keep Kansas in the forefront of the abortion industry.

There are numerous clinics in Kansas that care for pregnant women, their families and the delivery of their babies. All the services of these clinics are free. The compassionate thing to do, the right thing to do, and the godly thing to do is vote Yes on August 2. May God have mercy on Kansas.
