Letter to the editor: Appreciate budget coverage

To the editor:

I am writing to thank the Journal-World, and especially Editor Chad Lawhorn, for your coverage of city and county government matters. Lawhorn’s Aug.t 31 story, “A deeper look at the city’s spending, revenue trends,” was particularly informative, and prompted me to write. I appreciate him taking the time to analyze the Lawrence city budget in such depth, including comparisons with past years, and share the analysis with us. This is a fine example of the extreme usefulness of local newspapers! Keep up the good work.
