The Lawrence Journal-World on Dec. 12 ran an article headlined “Local crisis line to retire its number.

The article referenced previously reported that “approximately 80% of the staff at Headquarters last year signed a letter demanding the resignation of the entire board and interim executive director, citing concerns over potential misuse of grant funds.” For the record, the board and interim executive director were not involved with the potential misuse of grant funds. The board, which at the time included the interim executive director, took administrative action when the possible misuse of funds by former Headquarters staff was brought to its attention. The staff at Headquarters took exception to the administrative actions and demanded the board’s and the interim executive director’s resignations.
