Letter to the editor: T-shirt politics
To the editor:
Recently at breakfast I saw a man wearing a T-shirt that said “Veterans for Harris/Walz.” It turned out he had made the shirt himself. It got me to looking around, and I was surprised at all the partisan shirts I saw. Lawrence being what it is, the messages tended to tilt one way. “Grand parents for Harris/Walz” was not particularly unusual, but then there were shirts proclaiming Beagle owners, persimmon farmers, accordian players for Harris/Walz. Descendants of Immigrants for Harris/Walz. Neo-Liberals, ex-conservatives. Postmodern house painters, papier maché artists. Decaf coffee drinkers, phlebotomists, dead immigrant felons. These groups all supported Harris/Walz. You will have to imagine for yourself the groups that supported Trump.
Joe Douglas,
Lawrence
