Letter to the editor: Bad choice

To the editor:

In response to a letter of Nov. 13, I question the “news” sources of the writer’s misleading information. Credible journalists check sources and rely on facts. Democracies are being threatened by money-backed authoritarian regimes disseminating propaganda, false information and fear. The U.S. is no exception. Far right groups wield much power: Federalist Society, Heritage Foundation, white nationalist hate groups, the NRA, radical religious groups, and foreign dictators.

President-elect Trump is a convicted felon, found liable for sexual assault and guilty of establishing a fake charity and business school. He is also being charged with crimes involving voter interference, an attack on the Capitol and taking boxes of classified documents to his private residence. Why?

Trump left office with the highest national debt since World War II. Unqualified people are now being considered for government leadership — RFK Jr., a vaccine denier, for the department of Health and Human Services. Values of honesty, fairness, morality and integrity are not at work here.

Biden worked to support the working class and to create a fair tax system while dealing with recovery from the pandemic of Trump’s years. He invested in infrastructure, defended unions, expanded green energy and technology, and worked to break up monopolies in support of consumer interests. Biden’s four years had record unemployment, higher wages for low-income earners, stock market records, and built the strongest economy in the world. Kamala Harris supported these positions. Her qualifications are stellar. She would have served this country with integrity and honor.
