Letter to the editor: Please exercise your right to vote
To the editor:
Charlie Crabtree’s letter in the May 18 issue of the Journal-World is good, excellent advice. Voting is the most fundamental lever citizens have to affect our government, at all levels. Charlie’s letter lays out well how that is true.
To that information I feel the need to add one important perspective: Your vote matters even if you choose not to cast it. The void of an un-cast ballot still has an impact on the election outcome, but it is an uncontrolled one and injects a huge chance factor into the results. For your benefit and that of literally everyone else in your society, elections need to be the result of intentional choice. Vote!
