Letter to the editor: Administration harmed people
To the editor:
Regarding the recent letter from Clarice Dengel supporting her hero Donald Trump.
Ms. Dengle says she was happy under his reign. Has she forgotten about the 352,000 fellow citizens that died of COVID in 2020 and the 353,000 that died in 2021 while Trump proclaimed the virus was no more dangerous than the flu? Or, how he continually criticized and undermined efforts by well-respected medical experts in their struggle to control this dangerous virus?
My family had firsthand knowledge of this disease. My aging mother contracted COVID, was very ill, but survived. Her younger sister contracted COVID and died. Mother’s skilled care facility was forced to close to all visitors. The last months of her life I could not hold her hand or give her a hug and had to try to visit with her through her closed window. How many times was this scene repeated across our country?
I’m so glad that you were happy, Ms. Dengel.
By the way, Donald’s tariff plan was a disaster, causing harm to American farmers. People could not work because of Donald’s failure to do his part in controlling COVID. World leaders don’t respect him; he would take us out of NATO and let Vladimir Putin take over Ukraine.
Trump has done everything he can to divide our country; he is a constant threat to democracy. Trump supporters, please wake up and see him for what he really is. He wants to be your dictator.
