Letter to the editor: Worth every penny

To the editor:

I write for two reasons:

First, I want to thank Sen. Jerry Moran for, earlier this week, voting in favor of a Senate bill that would provide military aid to Ukraine. Second, I want to encourage our House member, Rep. Tracey Mann, to join him in supporting that measure in the House.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced (several times) that he does not intend to stop his war of aggression in Ukraine. If he is not stopped there, things will only get uglier and more deadly.

The Senate bill was for about $95 billion worth of weapons and ammunition. On its face, that may sound like a lot of money. But if Russia wins in Ukraine and then turns its attention to a NATO ally (and a much larger war in Europe), the price tag will only get bigger. Much bigger. Aid to Ukraine is worth every penny.

Will Manly,
