Letter to the editor: Morning again

To the editor:

A recent syndicated column by Rich Lowry carried the statement that Kamala Harris was just the cardboard cutout of a politician. That’s what we expect from Lowry, who is just the cardboard cutout of a real King Features columnist!

Commentators who were banking on ever-shrinking Biden support and rising Democratic discontent are miffed that it never happened and they have to delete their prepared scripts and face the new reality. They are ticked off that they were unable to pick on and sharpshoot Kamala Harris during what might have been a lengthy and bruising primary for any eventual winner. They resent that, for a change, the campaign did not go according to the Republican playbook.

They are bamboozled by the inability of Trump and his advisers to come up with the tactics to counter the youth, cheerfulness, unifying spirit and outright honesty of the Harris-Walz campaign while Trump simmers in rage, retribution, grievance and lies too numerous to count. Whether those pundits like it or not, they need to recognize the words of a previous Republican candidate’s campaign: “It’s morning again in America!”
