Letter to the editor: Reps behave shamefully

To the editor:

Tuesday night’s behavior on the part of a number of members of the House of Representatives during the president’s State of the Union Address was an embarrassment to themselves, the offices they hold and the country. Such childish and boorish behavior is seen on college campuses where the actors disagree with the presentation that someone is giving, as they do not wish to hear any side of a topic but their own. And I am sure that those very representatives would be howling and screaming at the top of their lungs should one of their speakers be heckled off of a stage.

The yelling and disruption shows that these “elected” representatives do not respect President Biden, which is their right, but also that they do not respect the office of presidency or the offices that they hold. As a conservative, independent voter I would be thoroughly embarrassed to have any of them as the person representing me in Washington. Shame on them.
