Letter to the editor: Money could be better spent

To the editor:

How much lipstick does it take to make the KU stadium draw in football fans when there isn’t a team to watch?

Heck, the track and relays aren’t even held there anymore.

Since we won the Orange Bowl we haven’t had a winning team. How many games do we play in a season? Eight or less?

So when not being used on Saturdays, or whatever day those games are played, who uses that stadium?

Just the crows resting on the goalposts?

When a university pays its football and basketball coaches more than professors, you have a sporting franchise, not an academic facility.

Maybe use that money to pay the teachers and professionals better wages than wasting on upgrades to the stadium.
