Letter to the editor: Money could be better spent
To the editor:
How much lipstick does it take to make the KU stadium draw in football fans when there isn’t a team to watch?
Heck, the track and relays aren’t even held there anymore.
Since we won the Orange Bowl we haven’t had a winning team. How many games do we play in a season? Eight or less?
So when not being used on Saturdays, or whatever day those games are played, who uses that stadium?
Just the crows resting on the goalposts?
When a university pays its football and basketball coaches more than professors, you have a sporting franchise, not an academic facility.
Maybe use that money to pay the teachers and professionals better wages than wasting on upgrades to the stadium.
