Letter to the editor: Thank you, commissioners

To the editor:

We really appreciate when our city commissioners roll up their sleeves and take care of problems.  I had the opportunity at the Sidewalk Sale last month to talk with two of our commissioners, Lisa Larsen and Stuart Boley, about a sidewalk condition that was causing problems.  They both listened and asked questions. Two days later I was driving by the problem sidewalk and was surprised to see the problem was already fixed.

It is really reassuring to see our local government responding so quickly to the concerns of its citizens.  Thanks to Lisa Larsen and Stuart Boley, our City Commission is at work. If you have problems that can be fixed, talk to any of our commissioners. They will listen and see the work is done to fix the problem, if they can.  They recognize the value of recruiting and retaining highly qualified city employees.  They work hard at strategic planning for short- and long-term goals and budgeting to meet those goals. They also respond to requests from groups and individuals for needed action to make our city more livable for all.

Thanks again, Lisa and Stuart, for rolling up your sleeves. Our City Commission is working for us.
