Letter to the editor: Careful method
To the editor:
I appreciate the careful approach our city and county officials are taking to residential development. They seem to recognize that big developments on the urban periphery represent long-term liabilities for taxpayers, as maintaining outlying infrastructure and institutions (think fire stations and schools) is costlier than maintaining existing schools, streets and utilities. Let’s hope some creative developers will find a way to take advantage of the scattered building sites available.
